Definition
Key, which depending on how it is used, indicates either the expiry date (shelf life expiration date) or the date of manufacture.
Use
If the 'Remaining Shelf Life" field is filled in the material master record (basic data), inbound processing interprets this data as the shelf life expiration date.
If the fields 'Remaining Shelf Life' and 'Total Shelf Life' are filled in the material master record (basic data), inbound processing interprets this date as the date of manufacture.
The shelf life expiration date check is maintained in Customizing under Set shelf life expiration date check.
To ensure that the relevant work item is triggered (error when there is insufficient remaining shelf life), you need to set message M7 212 to 'Error' in Customizing under Determine Properties of System Messages.
