Documentation
Definition
This indicator defines the form of the workflow integration that is to be used. This can influence the way in which exceptional situations are to be treated:
- Process exceptions using the old workflow processing method
- Process exceptions using the new workflow processing method
- Workflow processing is not used: exceptions are treated as errors.
Errors or exceptions exist for items in the goods movement IDoc. The errors/exceptions cannot be processed directly.
- If this is the case, errors are defined as being the result of incorrect settings (for example, errors in Customizing), insufficient master data maintenance or objects which have been locked by other users. Errors are displayed in the POS monitor which can also be used to assist processing.
- Exceptions are the result of situations in which automatic processing (for example, searching for purchase orders as a reference document) fails and user input is required. IDoc items that contain exceptional situations are processed later via workitems. Data from the relevant IDoc item is prepared and sent to a dialog transaction for posting. Users can supplement missing data or change incorrect data in dialog transactions.
