Definition
Total number of days for which the material lasts ( that is, the period starting from the date of production until the expiry date ).
Use
- If a value is entered in the material master record, the system assumes that the date entered during the goods receipt is the date of production of the material. Then it calculates an expiry date by adding
the number of days the material lasts to the production date, which it
updates in the batch master record and in the material document if the goods receipt is accepted. - If no value is entered in the material master record, the system assumes that the date entered during the goods receipt is the expiry date of the material; it updates this in the batch master record and in the material document if the goods receipt is accepted.
