Documentation

Definition

The booking key under which the reservation for a trip is stored in a global distribution system (GDS).

Use

The passenger name record (PNR) is defined by a combination of five or six letters and numbers. Information such as the name and and address of the passenger, as well as the flight segment and other services of the GDS, is linked to the PNR.

Additional information on the traveler or on special service requests can also be included in the PNR.

A PNR is created for each travel plan in R/3 Travel Planning, provided that the travel services were reserved in a GDS. If the travel plan contains only reservations from direct providers such as a rail booking portal, no PNR and therefore no booking key is issued.

Use

The user does not need to make entries in this field, as it is only used for informational purposes.

The system uses the PNR key entered here to transmit booking information of the global distribution system (GDS).

If the travel plan contains only reservations from direct providers (such as a rail booking portal), the information "direct provider" is displayed here instead of a PNR key.
