Definition

The PLU number is normally identical to the "key number" of a POS touch pad.

Use

It is generally only used if there is no EAN number for the POS - e.g. in the case of weight merchandise without weight EAN or in the case of touch pads which are actually physically used, or logically available touch pads (e.g. in the drinks store).

Dependencies

If a PLU number is specified, a touch pad (e.g. scales group) must also be specified. However, a touch pad number does not always require a PLU number to be specified.

Examples

Fruit and vegetable scales = "logical scales group"

• Store 0001 -> bananas = PLU no. 0001
  scales group no. ABCDE
• Store 0002 -> = 0005
  scales group no. XYZ01
• Store 0003 -> = ---- (store does not stock bananas)
  in this case, no. 0001 would be "oranges"
