Definition
If the production dates (with floats) do not agree with the order basic dates after backwards scheduling was carried out, you can adjust the dates. Scheduling calculates as follows:
The float after production is subtracted from the basic order finish date. From the resulting date, the system calculates the individual operation times. Then, the float before production is subtracted. This recalculated basic order finish date can be before or after the basic order start date calculated from the in-house production time in the material master. The following situations are possible:
- If the recalculated basic order start date is after the old start date and the indicator is set, the new basic order start date is used.
- If the production start date calculated in lead time scheduling is before the old basic order start date and reduction is permitted, the system reduces the lead time so that the production dates are always within the time interval specified by the basic order dates. The basic order start date is also adjusted, if the system always calculates a production start date which is before the basic order start date during reduction.
Caution
If you set the indicator for adjusting basic dates, you must also set the indicator for adjusting dates in detailed scheduling during step "Define scheduling levels". However, if you have chosen to adjust dates with rate-based scheduling, the indicator you set here is ignored.
