Definition
Spool work processes format output requests and forward them to the host spool system or the SAP program SAPLPD.
At least one instance of your SAP System must display the service Spool.
In spool instances, you may only allocate a single work process to the spool processing.
Note: You can change the assignment of these work processes to services, but not the total number of work processes.
If, when an operation mode switch occurs, only the assignment of work processes to services is changed, reconfiguration of the instance will take place during operation without restart the instance.
A restart takes longer and is faults are more likely to arise than is the case when you reconfigure an instance during operation.
The changes that you make become effective when the operation mode switch occurs, even if the instance profiles contain other data.
