Here, you can specify that the posting period no longer needs to be checked at direct posting, since the original application has already checked that the period is open. The original application has only performed this check for the account balances, but you can assume that all addressed ledgers are also open. If this indicator is not set, the system checks that the posting period is open for all the ledgers to which postings are to be made.
