Definition

Four settlement types are defined in the SAP system:

  • Periodic settlement (PER)

    This enables you to settle costs by period, and only includes the costs for the settlement period.

  • Year-end settlement (ANN)

    You use capital spending orders to monitor the costs for an asset you create yourself. Investment orders not closed by the year-end, must appear in the balance sheet as "Assets under construction", where you use year-end settlement.

  • Full settlement (FUL)

    You settle all the costs incurred on a sender object.

  • Line item settlement (LIS)

    This type of settlement is useful if you only wish to settle a few line items, and wish to decide during settlement which line items are to be settled where. You also use this type of settlement if you want to select and capitalize individual items from a number of line items in an asset under construction.
