Definition
The WCB of Nova Scotia uses CRA Business Numbers, with one minor modification, for the purpose of identifying the enterprises that remit premiums to it.
Like CRA Business Numbers, WCB Nova Scotia Business Numbers are 15 digits in length, and consist of the same nine-digit Registration Number and four-digit Account Number as their CRA counterparts. However, unlike CRA Business Numbers, WCB Nova Scotia Business Numbers use the letters WS as an account identifier. To illustrate, CRA Business Numbers adhere to the convention 123456789RC1234, while WCB Nova Scotia BusinessNumbers adhere to a slightly modified convention: 123456789WS1234.
