Definition

Not only the parameters for a message type, but also the parameters for a message segment are predefined in the system. However, the system requires index specifications to ensure that within a message type, it assigns the appropriate parameter to each of the allocated segments in the correct position.

This index specifies which of the parameters of the higher-level message type is to be used as the first parameter of this segment. The index number specified in this field corresponds to the position of the parameter in the higher-level message type.
