Documentation
Definition
The formula value and rate are calculated in the rate currency (the formula display currency). The formula value is then converted into the document currency in order to determine the overall net price. The conversion rate used for converting from the rate currency to the document currency is taken on the pricing date.
The document currency and exchange rate type are defaulted from the customer master record of the sold-to party (sales view); the document currency can be changed in the document (header - business data). If the document currency is changed, the system recalculates prices for the entire document.
The purpose of this functionality is to allow, for example for the case in which a condition value is calculated in USD (normally displayed to 2 decimal places), but the rate should be displayed to 6 decimal places. The rate is both calculated and stored to an accuracy of 6 decimal places.
