Documentation
Definition
Defines whether the value of a condition type is always to be calculated using a gross or a net volume, or whether the gross/net rule on the line item (OIGNRULE) is to be examined. If the value is blank, normal processing takes place, that is, the volume used follows the volume that is used to define the condition record.
The indicator is referenced during the retrieval of each condition record in pricing. If the condition record unit of measure is inconsistent with that specified by the indicator, it is replaced by the corresponding gross or net unit of measure.
The line item rule (OIGNRULE) is accessed only if specified by the indicator.
The indicator value is defined for each condition type during condition type maintenance.
Formula & Average Pricing
In formula & average condition types (calculation type Q), the indicator is relevant only for the surcharge. For the quotation, the indicator must be set in the quotation data table (OICQC), which is maintained using transaction O5F3.
Example
Condition type: ESTO (excise duty tax)
Gross/net indicator: N - always use net volume
Condition record: ESTO = $0.1 per L
During pricing, the unit of measure, L, is substituted by L15. The resulting tax rate used is therefore $0.1 per L15. This is because the indicator specifies that the value of condition type ESTO is always to be based on the net volume.
