Definition

This rule defines whether the value of condition types should be calculated using a gross or a net (ASTM corrected) volume.

Within pricing there are several condition catagories e.g. Fees, Taxes Discounts and Prices. This rule is used to specify whether the gross or net volume should be used for condition types within each condition category.

The rule is referenced during the retrieval of each condition record in pricing. If the condition record unit of measure is inconsistent with the rule which is defined, it will be replaced by the corresponding gross or net unit of measure.

Requirements

The line item rule is only used when the condition type indicator (Gross/Net Indicator) specifies 'R' ('use line item rule') at the item level in table T685A. This is found in:

  • IMG:

Sales and Distribution - Define Condition Types

  • Transaction V/06

Example

Rule: Taxes - Gross
Fees - Net
Discounts - Net

Condition Record: Discount K004 = $0,1 per L

During pricing the unit of measure L will be substituted by L15. The resulting discount will therefore be $0,1 per L15. This is because the rule specifies that discounts are based on the net volume.
