Definition
This field contains the rounded average quotation price which is calculated from all converted daily quotation prices for the average period. It is based on the currency, pricing unit, and unit of measure combination, with which the average quotation price has to be calculated.
This field is only used and filled in the case of rate-based Formula and Average evaluation (new since release 4.6B).
If the currency, the pricing unit, or the unit of measure for the daily quotation price in the quotation table is different from the corresponding currency, pricing unit, or unit of measure for the average quotation price, a conversion is needed for the daily quotation price. All of the converted daily quotation prices of the relevant period are summed. This sum is divided by the number of daily quotations. The result of this division can be rounded. The result of this rounding step is contained in this field.
If the currency, the pricing unit, and the unit of measure are all the same for the daily quotation price in the quotation table and for the average quotation price, then the daily quotation prices of the relevant period are summed and divided by the number of the daily quotations. The result can be rounded and is contained in this field.
Example
If you average over the 3 quotation prices:
320.00 USD / (1 TO)
400.00 USD / (1 TO)
280.00 USD / (1 TO)
The sum of the 3 quotation prices is:
320.00 + 400.00 + 280.00 = 1000.00
[all values in USD / (1 TO)]
Therefore the average quotation price is 1000.00 divided by 3, which is 333.333... .
If the average quotation price is rounded to 4 decimal places, you would expect a rounded average quotation price of
333.3333 USD / (1 TO).
This field contains the value '333.33330000000000', which represents an accurate and intermediate calculation result with a fixed number of 14 decimals.
