Definition
The identifier is used for identifying an organizational unit (OU) in patient management.
In patient management, you will mostly use these identifiers to assign patients to departmental and nursing organizational units.
These identifiers are used in the headers of many screens in patient management for displaying the organizational units to which a patient has been assigned.
The identifier of an organizational unit must be unique within the the higher-level organizational unit.
Instead of specifying the key of an organizational unit for identification purposes, you can also enter the identifiers in the sequence of the organizational hierarchy.
(for example: clinic: SURG, department: S1, nurse station: S1ST1).
The identifiers are sorted into a sequence in accordance with the organizational hierarchy by the function Set up identifiers.
