Definition
Overall and annual values of plan or budget are always stored for a particular object (= appropriation request, order, WBS element or investment program position) in the system:
- In the corresponding controlling area currency and
- In the object currency (if different)
If the transaction currency used for planning or budgeting is different to the controlling area or object currency, the values entered need to be translated into the controlling area/object currency. When making this translation, the following apply:
- For the translation of annual values: the definitions made in the fiscal year-dependent data of the CO plan version
- For the translation of overall values: the definitions made in the plan/budget profile
The translation of the overall value can, however, be carried out according to a different logic:
If the Remainder Translation indicator is set, the system translates only the remainder, not the full overall value. This remainder is calculated as:
Remainder = overall value - sum of annual values
In other words, this is that part of the overall value that was not distributed to the years. This value is translated in accordance with the plan/budget profile. In order to then have the full translation of the overall value, the translated remainder value is added to the total of the translated annual values.
Especially if the following relationship exists:
Overall value = Total of annual values
This relationship is still valid after the translation when the Remainder Translation indicator is set!
