Definition

In this field, you can specify the standard length of stay of a patient who is attended by an external physician.

The standard length of stay is determined on the basis of the valuation relation (as defined in amendment 1 and 2 of the German Federal Legislation for Hospitals) and is dependent on the flat rate per case.

This entry is not directly used for the billing run but is taken as a basis for comparison for statistical evaluations.

The maximum length of stay of a number of flat rates per case can vary, depending on whether care is provided by an external physician or by the department. Accordingly, the basic standard lengths of stay for these flat rates per case differ, as well.
