Definition
The new, current period is the future self-contained part of the specified fiscal year.
Use
Procedure
In the most straightforward of cases, the period corresponds to the calendar month; otherwise, the calendar days on which individual periods end are defined in Customizing.
After the period closing program has run successfully, the business transactions that need recording are assigned to this period (unless they are posted to a previous period).
