Documentation
Description
The above key figures refer to the core areas of SAP Sales and Distribution processing with particular reference to the subareas and functions, which are regarded in many companies as "lifelines".
Please note that most of the key figures referred to here deal with statistical values, whose significance can be dependent on the size of the selected sample. A serious derivation of characteristics for optimization potential can only be obtained from a range of applicable samples.
For every system function used, the relevant notes and recommendations from the SAP service systems must be taken into consideration. Any additional information which may exist, such as publications in SAP TechNet, will be looked at separately.
Please pay attention to the relevant legal requirements and the internal requirements of the company concerned.
If the effects on company schedules are already known, these will also be mentioned.
Some key figures have been provided with tolerance limits, which are based on values gained from experience.
This value is based on the observation of many installations by SAP development and service personnel and need not as a rule of thumb be taken literally.
Further information on the implementation of the existing tools is contained in the "Help" menu in the "Release Information".
Focus points
You should take into consideration those parts of the application which are normally essential parts of the overall customer and market supply process. Particularly the results and settings of operative processing in Sales, Shipping, Billing and Reporting, and their detailed functions. The following outline sections contain key figures for controlling document processing according to the saved information from the transaction data itself or from the associated SAP Business Engineer or Customizing structures.
These should give an insight into frequency of use and data volume in accordance with the defined control and evaluation criteria.
Detailed information on system control can be found in later sections or subsections.
