Definition
These fields determine the type of operating system, if the component can only be used with certain operating systems (OS). The correct details are specified by the creator of the components. For IS-H*MED components, the setting is supplied with the components. The input is used to determine whether it is possible for a component to be installed and executed at a given work station.
Select "user-defined", if the component is not OS-specific. Select "Win32/NT" for 32-bit Windows components. "Win 95" is an available limit of this setting, should NT not be allowed. For this setting, the component is considered non-executable with NT. "DOS/Win16" specifies a 16-bit component. For this reason, it is assumed that such a component is also executable for Windows 32-bit platforms. "OS2", "Mac" and "Motif" represent each of the operating systems and components that are so labelled and that can be installed and executed by the corresponding system.
