Definition

The Self-Explanatory indicator flags categories which require no further clarification in the application context.

Use

In the Pathways component this indicator of a category controls the system behavior when confirming an activity, for which a note must be entered. If a category, which has the Self-Explanatory indicator set, is selected, the note can be omitted, because the category is sufficiently explained.

Example

The Patient Refuses Treatment is available for the Reject Step activity. The note for the activity has the ALways Enter indicator set.

If you wish to permit the user to confirm this activity without entering a note, if he selects the Patient Refuses Treatment category, this category must have the Self-Explanatory indicator set.
