Documentation
Definition
External data are integrated as a reference to the current document category.
External data can be integrated as a referencing or non-referencing item. A referencing integration is only possible when using a Reference module.
For a Non-referencing integration, the value of the external data is copied each time the default is made (predefined) when the document is created or by executing the command Predefine document or by a user transfer into the documentation elements in question. After predefining or transferring, there is no further relation between the document contents and the source data. The document contents can be changed and differentiated from the source data according to the user's preferences.
For a Referencing integration, the value of the external data is transferred just as it would be transferred for a non-referencing integration. However, the relevant information is stored via the external data source. In any case, this takes place with some data using the reference of the document in the document master record (e.g. with case data and movement data, patient master data), whereas for other data, the source of the processing external data module must be contained in its own Reference table. when the document is accessed any other time, the source data will be reread and the appropriate values in the document will be updated. When accessing the document for display, the document contents will not be changed, even if the source data have changed.
