You should only use this selection option at service facilities which have a worklist which comprises clinical orders.
In service facilities of this type, the requested services should primarily appear in the view type. If you enter a department in the 'initiating department' selection parameter, you can create views that contain all requested services from a certain department.
The term, initiating department, normally means the department of the patient, to which he was assigned at admission.
