Definition
You can assign a sequential number to a foreign trade document yourself in the SAP System. This is called external number assignment. You can perform external number assignment either with or without an external number range (number range object with external number range interval). To do this, you have to maintain the relevant fields in the print control settings for foreign trade output. External number assignment is only possible if you use the transaction for printing foreign trade output.
You use this parameter to control whether you must enter a document number. Depending on the value you select here, the system issues either an error message, or a warning message if you do not enter a document number.
Use
You can set the following parameters:
- 'X' : Entry of document number is mandatory. If you do not enter
a number, the system issues an error message. - ' ' : Entry of document number is not mandatory. If you do not enter
a number, the system merely issues a warning message.
