Definition

Within the framework of "subsequent settlement" processing (Purchasing), provisions for accrued rebate income can be posted against condition records.

Provisions for accrued income allow the current material price valuation to be influenced by taking account of anticipated income from the subsequent settlement of volume rebates (retrospective discounts) due from vendors at the end of predefined periods.

Use

The provisions for accrued income are updated as part of the statistics within the Logistics Information System.

A precondition for this is that the indicator "Provision" is activated for the condition type in Customizing.

When settlement accounting takes place with regard to a condition record, the cumulative provisions for accrued income are dissolved (released, or reversed). (In the case of an advance interim settlement, however, the maximum amount dissolvable is the amount of income achieved.) The amount dissolved is also updated.

Within the framework of database entries, list outputs etc., the provision for accrued income shown always relates to the area of validity that is apparent from the environment.

For example, the amount can relate to the level "period" (i.e. condition record) or "period (i.e. condition record)/tax code".

You can obtain details on the provisions for accrued income, and also on the business volume data and settled income, using the function "Standard analyses" for subsequent settlement in the Logistics Information System. Here you can also analyze the data at the levels "material group", "purchasing organization", and "purchasing group".
