Definition
Stands for the class to which the combustible liquid belongs on the basis of its flash point and miscibility with water.
Example
This class is known as the hazardous material storage class. A typical classification might be as follows:
- Storage class A: liquids with a maximum flash point of 100 degrees Celsius that show none of the water-soluble properties of storage class B.
- Storage class B: liquids with a flash point of below 21 degrees Celsius that dissolve in water at 15 degrees Celsius or whose combustible liquid components dissolve in water at 15 degrees Celsius.
