Dependencies
Since the system updates all quantities in the base unit of measure, it is particularly importnat that the conversion factors are properly maintained. A quantity can only be displayed accurately in alternative units of measure if its value can be represented using the number of decimal places available. To make sure this is the case, note the following:
- The base unit of measure is the unit requiring the highest degree of accuracy.
- Converting alternative units to base units should always result in simple decimal fraction (i.e. not 1/3 = 0,333...).
Inventory Management
In Inventory Management, the base unit of measure has the same meaning as the stock-keeping unit.
Services
Separate units of measure exist for Services. For example:
LE Service unit (Unit at the higher level item. The exact details
about the quantity of the individual services
are contained on the detailed service line
level.)
PS Flat-rate (Unit at the service line level for services
performed once and for which no exact quantities
can be entered.)
