Number that uniquely defines the item in an update-relevant document.

Depending on the time of the update, the document may be

• a purchasing document (updating of vendor business volumes), or

• a settlement document (updating of rebate income at time of settlement accounting).

  In the latter case, depending on the settlement type, the document may be

• a billing document, or

• a vendor billing document

In the case of settlement documents prior to Release 4.0, it may also be

• a credit memo document (invoice verification)
