Order quantity, for which sales orders have been recorded, but no delivery made.
Use
In the standard of the Sales Information System the update of this key figure is influenced by the following events:
- Recording a sales order: the open orders quantity is increased
- Recording a delivery: the open orders quantity is decreased
The open orders quantity is updated in the information structures S001 and S004.
Two update rules exist in the standard for this key figure. One update rule describes the build-up of the open orders quantity, the second update rule describes the decrease due to the corresponding deliveries.

If quantities with various base units of measure are cumulated, *** is then shown as the unit in the standard analyses.
