Definition

Definition of how the imported GTIN data is merged into the GTIN data that already exists on the database.

Use

When importing GTIN data from a spreadsheet file or from the clipboard, it is important to distinguish between two different processing modes:

  • Add Imported GTINs to Existing GTINs (Add Mode)

The spreadsheet file or the clipboard should contain only new GTIN entries. The new GTINs will be added to the GTINs that are already available on the database for the related material and unit of measure.

In case you want to switch the main GTIN indicator from one existing GTIN to another, you are allowed to also include existing GTINs in the spreadsheet file or clipboard data.

  • Replace Existing GTINs with Imported GTINs (Replace Mode)

With this mode, you can add new GTINs by including them in the spreadsheet file or clipboard data (similar to the Add Mode). All existing GTINs will then be deleted. If you want to keep the existing GTINs, the spreadsheet file or the clipboard has to contain them as well. If you want to delete all GTINs for a given article and unit of measure, the spreadsheet file or the clipboard has to contain them with an initial GTIN or with the initialization character (for example, "~") as the GTIN.
