Documentation
Definition
The receiving storage location is the storage location that is supposed to receive the goods for a particular stock transfer.
When a goods movement in WM takes place that leads to a stock transfer in Inventory Management, based on this entry the system determines the receiving storage location.
The stock transfer may concern a transfer for a storage location within one or more plants that is controlled by specifiying the receiving plant.
Important: Depending upon the plant/storage location entry, you need to define the correct movement type.
Procedure
For a stock transfer between WM and production in which the movement concerns an interim storage area for kanban replenishment, you need to specify the storage location with the production supply area in which the kanban is defined as the receiving storage location.
