Use
If you use the application component Shipping (LE-SHP) along with the Warehouse Management system (LE-WMS), you decide on the basis of the picking technique, which document should be used as a basis for picking the material in WMS that is required for the outbound delivery
The following picking techniques exist:
- Picking with transfer orders (TOs)
Based on the outbound delivery, you create transfer orders in WMS and use the functions, which WMS offers.
- Picking without transfer orders (TOs)
You pick the materials in a certain storage type within the WM-managed warehouse from predefined fixed storage bins. In doing so, the system does not create any transfer orders; you pick directly on the basis of the outbound delivery documents.
To do this, you must have defined a fixed storage bin for each material in the material master.
- Picking according to quantity
Depending on the quantity to be picked, you pick
- Without TOs directly from fixed storage bins for small quantities
- With TOs for large quantities.
We recommend picking for outbound deliveries in WMS with transfer orders.
