Definition
You can print large quantity labels in addition to individual labels when picking materials packaged in larger quantities. For this function, the system calculates the total quantity to be picked and prints separate labels for the large quantities and individual labels for the remaining quantity.
Example
For a transfer order in which the requested quantity of material is 225 pieces in the base unit of measure and 22.5 cartons in the alternative unit of measure you can print labels as follows:
- Large quantity = 100 Picking label code = 1 (base unit of measure)
The system prints 2 large quantity labels (for 100 pieces each) and 1 individual label for each of 25 pieces.
- Large quantity = 10 Picking label code = 0 (alt. unit of measure)
The system prints 2 large quantity labels for 10 cartons each and 1 individual label for 2.5 cartons.
- Large quantity = 10 Picking label code = 2 (AUM, rest in base UoM)
The system prints 2 large quantity labels for 10 cartons each, 2 labels for 1 carton each and 5 individual labels for each of 5 pieces.
Please take note, that when calculating the number of labels, the system uses the quantities in the transfer order and not the general definition of base and alternative units of measure in the material master record.
