Definition

When processing active ingredients you request materials using the active ingredient unit of measure. This alternative unit of measure does not have a constant conversion factor for the base unit of measure but rather a conversion factor that is based on each individual batch.

The active ingredient unit of measure is important for updating reference documents, such as transfer requirements or deliveries, to determine the correct quantity for stock removals.

Since the physical transfer can only reference a unit of measure that has a constant conversion factor for the base unit of measure, the quantity for this unit of measure cannot be printed on a transfer order (nor can the transfer order be confirmed using it.
