Definition
Indicates the type of transfer order used in 2-step picking.
Use
For 2-step picking, separate transfer orders (TOs) are used for the individual steps of the complete picking process. This process uses a group that serves to link the transfer orders together that are used in the separate steps. In order to differentiate between the transfer orders in the group, an additional identifier is provided in the TO header.
The first step in 2-step picking is the removal of the cumulative quantity. The transfer order used for this step is called the "removal transfer order". This transfer order has the characteristics of a replenishment transfer order.
During the second step, allocation takes place. This means that the quantity that was removed previously is allocated to the individual requirement documents (deliveries/transfer requirements). This step takes place using an "allocation transfer order" and is generated with reference to the requirement.
If 2-step picking is not used for all items of the reference document (delivery/transfer requirement), there is an additional step in the complete picking process "direct picking". In this case, picking takes place in one step, independent of the 2-step process, for the specific items of the reference document directly out of the storage area. This picking step can also take place together with the allocation step, especially when the allocation takes place based on the requirements and not on the materials.
