Definition

Uniquely identifies a handling unit within a client.
A handling unit is a grouping of materials and subordinate handling units that are packed together in a packaging material (for example a crate or a pallet) at a particular time.

Use

There can be several items for a handling unit. These items can contain the following specifications, for example:

• With additional auxiliary packaging materials belong to the packaging
• Which materials are contained in it
  (including stock information if the HU is in a storage location that is subject to HU management)
• The deliver item referred to if the handling unit is assigned to a delivery, and therefore also the nested handling units contained in the handling unit (if a handling unit is packed in another handling unit).
