Definition
In the search string for index selection, you can enter parameters with type M (matchcode) to restrict the selection of data. Individual search terms are separated by periods.
Example:
- Search string "EDW.JO.."
- Selects all records for which names begin with "EDW" (e.g. "Edward" and "Edwards") and for which the first names begin with "JO" (e.g. "Joanne", "John" and "Joseph").
If you display the possible entries in the field "Index name" and choose one of these, you can then enter the search string in a pop-up with its correct structure. The periods separating the individual search terms are set by the system.
For other index types (e.g. strategic index), the entry of a search string is not supported.
