Definition

Gives the Line segment of a production line, which the system refers to for the entire production line for planning in the planning table.

• Lead time scheduling
The system carries out a midpoint scheduling around this planning segment. As a rule the planning segment is the production line's bottle neck work center.
• Sequencing
The planning segment serves as the basis for sequencing. The production start and finish dates in the planning table always relate to the first or the last takt of the planning segment.

Use

• You determine the planning segment of a production line in the Line hierarchy. The system automatically transfers the planning segment into the production version.
• If you have not defined a planning segment in the line hierarchy, the system uses the line hierarchy header.
