Definition

Defines whether you determine the production rate for a period in line balancing or by entering it manually.

Use

You carry out line balancing if you produce several materials on a production line (model mix), which have varying processing times in the takts (processing stations). In balancing the production line, you determine the production rate and the takt time in which all materials, on average, can be processed.
You carry out line balancing by moving the operations into line segments and adjusting the capacity on the line segments where necessary.

Dependencies

When you create a line hierarchy, you can flag the No line balancing indicator in the initial screen for line hierarchies. You can then change the selection in the Administration data tabstrip.
