Definition

Specifies the material-dependent quantity per time unit of the line hierarchy. This material-dependent rate overrides the planned rate in takt-based scheduling. This means that the material concerned is on the production line at different times to the other materials.

The time in which material can be processed in a takt is not influenced by the material-dependent rate.

Use

You can enter any material-dependent rate for a material, that is less than the maximum rate. Since the planned rates are time-dependent, enter the material-dependent rate with reference to the time-independent maximum rate. Consequently the system calculates a material-dependent factor according to the following formula and stores this internally:

Material-dependent rate
Material-dependent factor = ----------------------------------
Maximum rate

For operative planning, the system calculates the material-dependent rate by first determining the planned rate that is valid at a certain time. It then multiplies this rate with the internally stored factor. This ensures that the material-dependent rates are always adjusted in relationship to the current planned rate of the production line.

You can display the calculated material-dependent rates, period-dependent, in a control screen.

Dependencies

  • If you change the maximum rate of a production line, the material- dependent rates are automatically adjusted. The system multiplies the maximum rate with the material-dependent factor.
  • Sequencing schedules all materials, for which you have not entered any material-dependent rates, with the rates of the production line.
