Definition
Country key that specifies the criteria for checking entries such as length of postal/zip code or length of bank account number.
The two-character ISO code based on ISO 3166 is generally used and is delivered by SAP as the default.
Other options are the country key for vehicles or a country-specific key, such as the key for the Federal Statistical Office in Germany.
The country keys are defined as part of the global settings when the system is installed.
When you define country keys in the SAP system, they do not necessarily have to match those of political or national bodies.
Since the country key does not have to match the ISO code in all installations, programs that differentiate between specific values of the country key should query the ISO code T005-INTCA rather than the country key T005-LAND1.
