Note

This field can be used only for retail materials.

If you have set the indicator Propose field content to define that the field content is proposed from the reference, you can also set this indicator to define that the field content is copied from the reference whenever the reference is changed. The field content is copied as follows:

  • From the generic material to the variants
  • From the reference plant to the dependent plants
  • From client level to lower areas of validity for the same material

    For example, the purchasing group is copied from client level to plant level.

If you know that a field will be maintained differently from plant to plant, it is strongly recommended that the indicator Copy field content is not set for the field concerned. The plant will otherwise be flagged as differently maintained, resulting in loss of performance.
