Ordinary depreciation is posted to this account, if the total depreciation is positive. This enables you to show the gross allocation of special reserves; in other words if special depreciation (=gross allocation) is positive, ordinary depreciation (=gross write-off) is negative and total depreciation (=net allocation) is positive, then allocation and write-off can be posted to separate accounts. If you enter the same account here as used for the allocation of special reserves, then the balanced net allocation will be posted to this account.
