Definition
The account assignment category specifies the object type for the settlement receiver.
Examples of account assignment categories are:
- FXA Fixed asset
- CTR Cost center
- ORD Order
- G/L General Ledger account
By entering the account assignment category in the fast entry screen of the settlement rule you specify how the entry is interpreted in the general receiver field. If, for example, you enter "CTR" as the account assignment category and "1000" as the receiver, then the system settles to cost center 1000. If, however, you enter "ORD" and "1000", then the order with number 1000 is the settlement receiver.
At the same time, the F4 help in the general receiver field is influenced by the account assignment category. If, for example, you enter "FXA" as the account assignment category, then the system offers you F4 help for the selection of fixed asset numbers.
Special features for statistical auxiliary account assignments
You can enter a statistical auxiliary account assignment for a settlement receiver (usually just in the detail screen, as the entry is then not visible in the fast entry screen for every account assignment category). If you have entered a statistical auxiliary account assignment (that is, the rule has two receivers), then the account assignment category is normally the object type for the object that is posted to statistically.
Example: With a rule for settlement to a profitability segment with simultaneous statistical account assignment to an order, the account assignment category is "PSG"
Exceptions to this are the combinations
Order with cost center and
WBS element with cost center.
Here the account assignment category is always "ORD" or "WBS", regardless of whether the order or the WBS element is statistical or not.
Information for the system administration
You specify which settlement receivers are allowed in the settlement profile This also affects the F4 help on the field.
During settlement in the plan, only account assignment categories "CCR" (cost center) and "BPR" (business process) are possible.
If you have stored a default account assignment in the settlement profile, the system uses this as the default value for the account assignment category. You do not need to enter an account assignment category.
