Definition

You can provide the operands for a rate with values in the rate facts. You always specify these operand values in the rate facts with reference to a rate fact group. You can also maintain the operands in the rate facts for several rate fact groups. This enables you to bill various customers differently with the same rate.

Example

  • Rate T100 contains a step that valuates a register's consumption with a price. The price operand is called PREISOP1.
  • You allocate the following price keys to operand PREISOP1 in the rate facts:
Rate fact group Operand Operand value (price key)
    0001 PREISOP1 PA
    0002 PREISOP1 PB
    0003 PREISOP1 PC
  • You create rate type TA and allocate rate T100 to rate type TA in rate determination.
  • During the billing-relevant installation of a device you enter rate type TA together with a rate fact group for the consumption register. This affects billing in the following ways:
    • Consumption meter with rate type TA and rate fact group 0001 are valuated with price PA.
    • Consumption meter with rate type TA and rate fact group 0002 are valuated with price PB.
    • Consumption meter with rate type TA and rate fact group 0003 are valuated with price PC.

Additional notes:

  • Using the rate fact groups, you can allocate different values to all operands, not just to the price operands.
  • You are required to specify a rate fact group when you maintain the rate facts. There are no operand values that apply to all rate fact groups.
  • If you enter a rate type for a register or a device, or in the rate category facts or in the installation facts, a rate determination is carried out internally. When you enter a rate type, you must also maintain a rate fact group. The system checks that rate facts are available for the rate fact group. For example, if you enter a rate type that is used to determine rate T100 mentioned above, only rate fact groups 0001, 0002 and 0003 are permissible.

An exception would be a rate without rate facts (for example, if all operand values come from the installation facts). In this case, the rate fact group must remain empty.

  • When a contract is billed, the rate fact group must be the same for each rate. For example, the installation for a contract contains two consumption registers. Both registers have the same rate type. The same rate fact group must then be used in both cases. If both meters are billed with different rates, however, then different rate fact groups may be used.
