Definition

Indicates that communication between the head office and the plants is not to be based on message determination.

  • Message determination deactivated

The plants do not receive any notifications from the headquarters, but can find out themselves about planned goods receipts (i.e. the store has to take the initiative). Special functions exist for this, tailored to the requirements of the plant (e.g. the "Communication per plant" dialog or communication via the SAP Retail Store).

Requested quantities can also be reported without a request notification previously being created. Message determination can only be deactivated for plants (maintained in the plant view at item level) and not for distribution centers (in the distribution center view at item level).

  • Message determination activated

Headquarters sends a notification informing the plants about the planned goods receipts. Notifications are generatd based on message determination.

    • When an allocation table is posted, message determination is run, which generated message records (if condition records exist).
    • The message records are then bundled and processed (e.g. a notification is printed or sent by EDI).

Requested quantities can only be reported after a request notification has been created.
