Use

The way in which the system determines this description depends on the component:

  • If the component has an object master record (for example, material master record, document info record, or class), this field contains the description in the object master record.
  • For the following item categories, the field contains the first line of the BOM item text:
  • Variable-size item
    • If there is a BOM item text, the first line is shown (for example, for entering the dimension).
    • If there is no BOM item text, the description from the material master record is shown.
    • You can define additional settings for variable-size items by choosing Define modification parameters.
