Definition

The summarization dates determine which periods the system is to look in when selecting data for summarization.

Use

You can plan costs for orders and projects as follows:

• with reference to a period or
• with total values (without reference to a period)

Summarization can only select values saved with reference to a period in the system.

• The following occurs when you carry out a summarization run:
• Values on the summarization object for periods within the specified summarization dates are reset and recalculated.
• Values on the summarization object for periods outside the specified summarization dates are not deleted. This means that values that were calculated with a previous summarization run are not deleted during the reorganization of the relevant orders or project.
• If you carry out a deletion run, the summarization dates are ignored.
