Definition
Indicator that enables you to perform results analysis across business areas - and therefore valuate the sales order stocks or project stocks across business areas - on the basis of this results analysis version.
Use
Cross-company-code valuation always entails cross-business-area valuation.
The Customizing setting "cross-business-area valuation without cross-company-code valuation" can only be used in controlling areas that have no more than one company code.
Cross-business-area valuation is appropriate in the following situtations:
- In sales-order-related production, it is possible to create production orders or process orders in a business area that differs from the company code of the sales order.
- In engineer-to-order environments, WBS elements can be assigned to different business areas.
Without cross-business-area valuation, the costs for the WBS elements or orders of the second business area are normally reported as work in process in that business area until the order is completed. When the order is completed, these costs are included in results analysis in the first business area.
